Welcome to the North Carolina Biofeedback Society

We delight in your visit to our website and hope that you find the information enlightening and helpful.

For numerous conditions, biofeedback training frequently serves as an adjunct to the effectiveness of other modalities such as medication, physical therapy or exercise; self-regulation skills, techniques and strategies enhance control of symptom frequency and severity. As biofeedback practitioners, we promote a person's awareness of their role in all aspects of good health and disease prevention. Internal harmony can be maximized through self-awareness and the many tools for self-regulation that biofeedback training provides and supports.

A wide variety of professionals administer biofeedback training in both the health and mental health fields. Because of the broad range of applications for biofeedback therapy, most clinicians possess their own level of specialization, backed by specific training and expertise.

The National Institutes of Health, as well as other agencies, universities and professional organizations, endorse biofeedback treatment as a well accepted and effective participant in the field of Integrative and Complementary Medicine. Re-educating and strengthening the restorative powers of mind and body proves crucial in our individual journeys to improve and protect well-being and advocate for our own health needs.

We welcome your comments and questions.

Best regards,
Betty Wolfe, M. Div

Think...of the world that you carry inside you, and call this thinking whatever you want to...only be attentive to what is arising within you, and place that above everything you perceive around you. What is happening in your innermost self is worthy of you entire love; somehow you must find a way to work at it...

Ranier Maria Rilke
Letters to a Young Poet (p. 56)
Translated by Stephen Mitchell
